lecture no 3 conflicts Horde vs Alliance

Since Horde and Alliance have the same major enemy you can start to wonder why we fight with each other. Some reasons are simple like helve of axe, some are hidden in the past. I will start with most recent ones and move back in time.

Orcs vs Night Elves
After battle on Mount Hyjal where orcs and elves were united both races want to rebuild and arise their power and influence. Night elves want forests to reborn, orcs want good wood. The best close wood is in Ashenvale Forest which is ancient teritorry of night elves. And orcs will not wait for new forests to grow when battles await and Burnind Crusade can return any time as well.

Humans vs Forsaken
Around time of battle on Mount Hyjal undead Scourge almost wiped humans from nothern Eastern Kingdoms. Humans do not see much diference between undeads of Scourge and free-willed undead Forsaken. Wounds are fresh and it is deep rooted in humans culture that corpses should remain buried to prevent diseases what was proven during Scourge expansion. As well many members of both sides thinks "less them means more us".

Orcs vs Humans and Dwarves,Gnomes
When Sargeras opened Dark Portal directed by Burning Crusade orcs attecked humans and dwarves. Untill Sargeras human form was defeated orcs managed to conquare south of Eastern Kingdoms, close Dwarves and Gnomes in Ironforge, and fight to far north of continent. Even when migrating to Kalimdor group led by Thrall done it over humans dead bodies capturing their ships. It is woth to add that Thrall's - present orcs warchief - parents were slain by humans and Thrall was rised by humans to make him slave. Short unity for battle on Mount Hyjal made conflict little bit less tense.

Orcs vs Draenei
Before Dark Portal there were years of peacefull coexistance on orcs homeworld Draenor. Burning Crusade came there and manipulated orcs to slay dreanei. Dreanei were almost wiped, some fleed and crushed in Azeroth with not many positive thoughts about orcs.

Trolls vs Humans
High Elves rised city Quel'Thalas over trolls' sacred ground. Trolls thx to regeneration and number had big chance of winning but elves teached humans magic and used them in fight.

High Elves vs Night Elves
High Elves (most are now Blood Elves) are descended from the Highborne night elves. Highborn elves used magic from Well of Eternity freely and their lives and glory were to the Well connected. When rebelious Night Elves destroyed the Well - High Elves lost their capitol, princess, source of power, eternal life and some immunities and were banished from new shaped Kalimdorn for use of magic. Even if hate for night elves remains strong some high elves joined humans and Alliance.

Trolls vs Elves
Conflict reaching times before destruction of Well of Eternity. Trolls had great empires but elves used magic from Well of Eternity and destroyed those. Trolls never rebuilded their previous glory and hate for elves is still great.

Reasons for wars are many. Some swordmasters say "training makes masters". Elders can add "so wars will make us ready". With this thought lets end the lecture for moment to go make some fresh corpses.

lecture no 2 races

Some of known inteligent (more or less) races of known world and their orgin:

Trolls - natives of Azeroth, thousands of years ago when Kalimdor was one big continent, they had large empires

Elves - rumors says that they are trolls that lived on shores of lake Well of Eternity and mutated from its magic, neither trolls nor elves want to confirm such connection

Taurens - their tribal culture in the wilds was possibely long before elves existed, for ages nomadic just recently they made permanent settlements, they believe they were created by creator Earthmother - embodiment of nature - her power reminds those of Titans

Humans - when trolls had their empires humans were just nomadic gatherers, humans rised thx to short life cycle and magic that elves teached them

Dwarves - those were Earthen before - creatures of stone made to help the Titans shape the world, destruction of Well of Eternity and part of land made earthen hide in deeps of earth, hibernated for 8 thousand years, they softened over time and awaken as dwarves

Orcs - comes from world of Draenor(after Burning Legion visit-Outland), were brought to Azeroth through the Dark Portal by Burning Legion, managed to rebel led by Thrall

Draenei - comes from world of Argus, 25,000 years ago Sargeras bribed with power most of them, rest fleed to Dreanor where lived in peace with orcs until Burning Crusade came there, some fleed with dimensional ship that crushed in Azeroth

Gnomes - since they dont care about history as much as about their ideas not much is known, they were already technologicaly advanced when dwarves have met them, they have Earthen related biology like dwarves or humans and could be some lost branch of those

Forsaken - fresh :) race of undead, when Lich King weakened and partialy lost of control of the more distant Scourge forces many undead under his mental domination had their conscious will restored and their spirits and memories were somehow returned to their undead bodies, those undead gathered under led of Lady Sylvanas to free more undeads and ensure survival

Goblins - come from tropical island south of oceanic vortex, their concern about history is similar for gnome one, fast breeding often die in their run for profit and risky experiments, their orgin remains unsure, since their capital is under earth near previous location of Well of Eternity they can be related to trolls, elves, gnomes, humans, dwarves, orcs...

Troggs - earlier version of Earthens, faliture, stupid living stone creatures, made mostly of rock eat rocks including each other

Centaurs - came from sons of Cenarius - one of demigods of Azeroth, Lord of the Forest, even if Cenarius teached Taurens and Elves balance and druidism, far related to him centaurs remained savage and brutal

Furbolgs - race of bear-men that evolved on Azeroth before Titans came, now raging and suspicious, some stories says that those are druids who remained to long shapeshifted and forgoten previous form or their magic got corrupted and twisted

Quillboars - boar-men, are offspring of Agamaggan - Giant Boar demigod, when he fallen in battle against Burning Crusade from his blood large thorny vines grown (drops of his blood are Blood Shards now)

Satyrs - elves mutated by the first satyr Xavius who had been corrupted by Sargeras himself and had the power to turn other willing night elves into satyrs

Harpies - descend from a group of female Night Elves who were cursed by Queen Azshara - Highborn elves leader who allowed Sargeras access to Well of Eternity

Naga - elves that mutated after explosion of Well of Eternity, those who brought Burning Crusade there, to save their lives made deal with Old Gods who twisted them, most of nagas still live in area of oceanic vortex Maelstorm led by Queen Azshara

Mulrocs - fish-man, tribal simple creatures living on shorelines, possibely pushed from seas by nagas expansion

Gnolls - hyena-men, live from pillage and steal, also do some mining and mercenaries jobs, orgin is not certain, could be some mutated/punished human bandits

Kobolds - rat-men, tunnelers and miners, often slaves, orgin is not certain, could be some mutated dwarves or race that evolved on Azeroth from time before Titans came

Sporelings - mushroom like humanoids native to Zangarmarsh in Outland

Those would be most of races with own culture I have met so far during my travels.

lecture no 1

Some of us would like to know what it is all about without over year of studing in libraries, scratching moss from tablets, trying to not change scrolls into dust on tree top or reading runes with those little guys attacking your knees. Dealing with demons could be included as well.
Sharing knowledge will lower cost in souls and sharpening stones.

So I will start with deep background and general idea. Most powerfull known creatures in the world are refered as Titans. Just to notice that some of dragons work for them (and Nefarian or his sister Onyxia are several ranks of power under them) or that they defeated old gods like Hakkar when those were full strenght. Those Titans leaders travel, shape worlds and watch over the universe - do this creator and protector job. One of them - main warrior and brother to the leader - got corrupted or bored of this creating and protecting. Sargeras is his name. He thinks all this creation was bad idea, not worth the effort and chaos and depravity still comes so he wants to fix it and destroy everything.

He created Burning Crusade for that purpose. Previous generations of Azeroth were stoping him. There was nice source of power - Well of Eternity - Highborn elves liked it. Sargeras came for it and became worshiped for his power and Highborn opened portal for his Crusade. Night elves got rebelious and to drive him out destroyed lovely Well in the way along with massive part of Kalimdor. Where the Well had been now is a gigantic oceanic vortex.

For second visit Sargeras possesed some humans and opened Dark Portal what brought many orcs on human and dwarven heads. His human form was defeated in his dark tower Karazhan. Orcs of the Horde stopped unholy mission and settled in Azeroth.

Meantime Ner'zhul, the dark shaman contacted Crusade, became Lich King, created and controlled undead Scourge. When Crusade invasion came he was pushed away. Horde and Alliance together were stoping the Crusade. And guess what - there was again great magic - the World Tree on Mount Hyjal - and it was almost totaly destroyed by elves when defeating Crusade invasion commander. Some could start to wonder what elves would do if there will be no great magic to waste.

Anyway those epic wars of the past left Sargeras and Burning Crusade still active and the war against total destruction still continue. This is main conflict of this world and not everyone may realize this.
